šŸ“¢ Advertisement Management – User Guide

This guide explains how to create, manage, and archive advertisements using the backoffice interface.

šŸ–„ļø Advertisements Overview

The Advertisements page shows all currently active ads.

Navigation:
Playsite → Content → Marketing - Advertisement

The Config tab allows you to configure how each Playsite banner should appear.

šŸ–„ļø Channels

There are two types of advertisement channels. Both use the same configuration UI:

  • Playsite – Ads shown on the playsite

  • In-Stream – Ads shown inside a video broadcast

šŸ“Œ Playsite Channel

Config
Playsite advertisements will only appear of they are enabled on the config page. You can access the page by clicking ā€œconfigā€ at the top of the advertisements page.

Ad Type

For Playsite ads, the ad type defines:

  • What kind of banner it is

  • Which slot it should appear in, depending on the target (see more about slots below)

Banner types:

  • Site banner

  • Site item banner

  • Competition banner

  • Group banner

  • Broadcast banner

Ad Targets

Each ad has one or more targets, i.e., which pages it appears on.

  • All applicable targets are added automatically when creating a new ad

  • Each target can be customised to show on:

    • All entities (default)

    • Specific items (e.g., a specific competition)

Example:
A banner targeting the "Competition" page can be configured to:

  • Show on all competition pages

  • Show only on selected competitions

Inheritance

Advertisement visibility follows a page hierarchy:

  1. Home page

  2. Site item page

  3. Competition page

  4. Group page

  5. Broadcast page

A page inherits ads and have dedicated slots from higher levels based on:

  • Entity relationships

  • Ad and target configurations

Slots

A slot refer to a reserved advertisement location on the playsite. Each page that can display ads has its own slot, plus the ones they inherit from the hierarcy.
Example

  • Home page:
Can only display Site banners and only has one potential ad slot.

  • Broadcast page:
Can display all banner types and have dedicated slots for each banner type. Note that each slot only appears if there are banners to inherit, and the banner is configured to be displayed on the broadcast page.

šŸ“Œ In Stream Channel

Ad Type

For in stream ads, the ad type defines:

  • What event the ad should be displayed with

In stream types:

  • Sponsor slide

  • Match event goal

  • Match event penalty

  • Period start

  • Clock stop

  • Interval

Ad Target

A In Stream ad can only have one target configured. You can specify what target the ad should appear on.

In stream targets:

  • Site

  • Competition

  • Group

  • Broadcast

šŸ“ Archiving and Restoring Ads

Archive an Advertisement

A archived product does not appear on the Playsite and not in the overview of active advertisements. It is not deleted and can be restored from the advertisement detail page or the archived advertisements tool on the advertisement overview page.
