Marketing: Email notifications

We are communicating with our users on various methods

  • Newsletters, news from the site

  • Emails from partners/advertisers

  • System messages, triggers based on events in the site

System messages

Recently implemented (27/2-2025) we are sending out emails to the users based on events happening in the site.

This is a opt-in feature for the playsites. If opted in they have today 3 choices of events. When user register, when a purchase is being made and when a product has been cancelled or expired. If an event is toggled on the user will receive an email of confirmation of the action.

The site can whenever turn it on and off.

To enable

Navigate to the Playsite tab in Backoffice and select “Emails”. You will be faced by a toggle which enables/disables this on the whole site. Then there will be those 3 subcategories and a input field for submitting the email the site wishes to send the email from.

When clicking on one of those subcategories you will be presented with the template that is being sent out as the email. These templates are today not adaptable in design but you can change the text however you want. This can be done with the help of Translation strings and that is only connected to the selected site.

To change texts

Navigate to Translations tab and look up “Mail” bundle. There you will have keys for each of the three templates. Change the text how you want and then you can preview how the template will look.

Translation keys that you cannot change, it will cause the email to not look well if changed →
If a translation key has a word wrapped with {}, the text inside of it must remain the same. Even though the text is not in english, the word inside of the {} must be in english.

Example of words that as of today must remain the same.

  • {firstName}

  • {link}

  • {siteName}

  • {productName}

User opt-out

The users can also whenever they want opt-out of this feature if they do not wish to receive any emails. That can be done through the Playsite - Account view.
